Become a GearUp! Team Leader
Help BTS fully GearUp! 2,000 BTS as they embrace their wrestling journey by becoming a team leader. Teams that reach their goal will be entered to win exclusive prizes. Teams can be one individual or a group of people. We have Teams that have organized as their workplaces, college sports team, and families. All teams leaders will be recognized as BTS Fundraising Volunteers supporting by participating our Beat the Streets National Volunteer Program, and become members of our Beat the Streets National Volunteer Network.
As a GearUp! Team Leader, you are contributing by volunteering your time and effort to our mission through sharing the BTS with your network to spread the word of what we do and to see if others are interested in contributing to our goal of raising 100K to GearUp! 2,000 BTS youth as they embrace their wrestling journey this year. You help us do the impossible by reaching people who care about this mission who we would not be able to reach without you.
You get your own Team page within our GearUp! Campaign with the option of asking a few others to join your team. You set a Team fundraising goal, and share the link away to with a personal message to your friends, family, and co-workers so that those who you reach out to who care about the mission can support by donating.
If you wish to support GearUp! by sharing its mission and fundraising with your network, but wish instead to reach out to your personal contacts via phone, email, social media without having to manage an online team page, fear not, you can still be a GearUp! Team Leader.
Let us know if you’re interested by reaching out to our Director of Communications and Development, Gina Perry (gina@beatthestreets.org) who will follow-up and guide you with how to get started!

Corporate Giving Programs
To maximize your time, effort, and and contributions please consider exploring whether your employer offers Corporate Giving Programs such as a Corporate Matching Gift Program or Volunteer Grant Program!
Employers with a Corporate Matching Gift Program financially match donations that their employees make to nonprofit organizations. When an employee makes a donation, they’ll request the matching gift from their employer, who then makes their own donation. Employers often have their own matching eligibility guidelines, processes, and policies. 65% of Fortune 500 companies have a Corporate Matching Gift Program.
Please consider exploring whether your employer offers a Corporate Matching Gift Program. Some examples of companies that match employee donations are BP British Petroleum, General Electric, Soros Fund Management, Gap Corporation, ExxonMobil, State Streets Corporation, Carmax, Boeing, Johnson and Johnson, Microsoft, and many more.
Employers with a Volunteer Grant Program, encourage employee volunteerism with organizations they care about by providing monetary grants to organizations where employees regularly volunteer. Employers often have their own Volunteer Grant Program eligibility guidelines, processes, and policies. If you are eligible for a volunteer grant through your company, you can submit what is often a volunteer grant application to them and the company will then process the application and make a monetary donation to the nonprofit you volunteered with.
Some examples of companies that make monetary donations to organizations that employees volunteer with are Apple, The Walt Disney Corporation, Microsoft, Google, Verizon, Dell, Illinois Tool Works Inc. (ITW), Pfizer Inc., CVS Health, Dominion Energy, Merck, Amgen, ExxonMobil, Aetna, Coinstar, Verizon, ConocoPhillips, Microsoft, Dell, Realnetworks, Allstate, and many more.
