Beat the Streets National’s very own Operations and Development Associate, Jon Guevara, was recently featured on A&E’s short form series, “Voices Magnified,” in which the channel highlighted a wide range of people making an impact in their communities, confronting challenges, and bringing people together. The collection of short clips provides a timely and important conversation about equality, inclusion and social justice occuring in America today.
Jon grabs the attention of the viewers with a very impactful truth we practice at Beat the Streets every day, “Every child deserves the opportunity, the fighting chance, to pursue their ambitious goal.” It is our mission at Beat the Streets National to encourage and support our chapters in their pursuit to ensure every one of our athletes has a fighting chance to chase after their dreams on and off the mat through our wrestling and mentoring programs. We aim to positively alter the trajectory of our student athletes’ lives, and as Jon points out, “All you need is a pair of wrestling shoes and the desire to be better today than you were yesterday.”
