On March 17th, 2023 Beat the Streets supporters, staff and ambassadors will come together to celebrate the impact and growth of the youth development program centered around the fundamental life lessons taught by the sport of wrestling. Now reaching over 10,000 youth nationwide across 10 chapters, Beat the Streets stands as one of the largest sports based youth development non-profits in the world! As we continue to share our mission to positively alter the life trajectory of the youth we serve, Beat the Streets aims to encourage, support and offer life changing opportunities for our athletes to learn off and on the wrestling mat.
The Celebration of Impact is a fun-filled social event taking place during wrestlings largest gathering of the year, the NCAA D1 Championships! Beat the Streets National will honor executive director of BTS LA, Yero Washington for his longtime service and commitment, with the Servant Leader Award, as well as special guest speaker, Jordan Burroughs, with the Beat the Streets Ambassador Award. Also in attendance will be various wrestling legends and longtime BTS supporters such as Kenny Monday, Brandon Slay, Kerry McCoy, Sally Roberts, Bruce Baumgartner, Bill Zadick, Terry Steiner, Richard Perry and many current National Team members. The Celebration of Impact is a great opportunity to not only celebrate the continued success of Beat the Streets, but also mingle and meet your favorite wrestlers.
The celebration made possible because of our premier sponsors: Post Brothers, Latham & Watkins, and Alston Construction, will begin immediately following the conclusion of the NCAA Friday morning session; a short program will begin at 4:30 pm featuring Jordan Burroughs. The event will conclude at 7pm just in time for wrestling fans to head back to the arena and cheer on their alma maters. While we encourage guests to stay for the duration of the event to take advantage of the delicious food, and open bar, guests are more than welcome to come and go as they please, but entry does require registration and a wristband.
In addition to the Celebration of Impact, Beat the Streets National is hosting an online auction beginning Friday, March 10th. With more than 20 items, including 3 clinic/camp opportunities from Roman Bravo Young, Kyle Snyder and Richard Perry, you might want to set a reminder so you don’t miss the chance to bid on these one of a kind items and experiences!
Online auction link can be found on the event page.
