With months of preparation complete and weigh-ins approaching tomorrow, Beat the Streets (BTS) student-athletes from across the country are ready to take the mat and compete at one of the nation’s most prestigious wrestling events. From March 27 to March 29, 2026, BTS athletes will travel to Virginia Beach to compete in the 37th Annual National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) High School Nationals. High School Nationals is one of the premier postseason wrestling tournaments in the country, bringing together top middle and high school athletes from across the United States to compete for national titles.
2025 BTS NYC Student-Athletes
Beat the Streets empowers youth in urban communities through a holistic model that extends beyond the mat, combining wrestling with mentorship, academic support, and character development to help student-athletes succeed in life. While not every athlete is on a path to compete at the highest levels, each plays an important role in the BTS community and benefits from this model of development. For those who do emerge as high-level competitors, access to elite national competition becomes critical. As a result of strong coaching, consistent training, and a values-driven environment, many BTS student-athletes rise to that level. Opportunities like High School Nationals allow them to test themselves against the best in the country, gain exposure to college programs, and fully realize their potential. Since 2017, NHSCA has partnered with Beat the Streets in supporting BTS student-athletes at this event.
This year, about 60 BTS student-athletes and their coaches from chapters including Baltimore, New York City, Cleveland, New England, and D.C. will be represented at the tournament. These athletes are not only competing for titles, but also continuing a tradition of excellence that has defined BTS participation at High School Nationals.
